Stone is located in Old Sugarland Cemetery in Washington Township (S14,T3N,R7W), surrounded by property of Frank Bledsoe, about 1/2 mile west of road, up a hill and very rough, in a wooded area. The inscription reads: Pvt. Phillips Co. 3 N.J. Mil Rev War

Also, inscribed on the stone 1837. A county cemetery book gives death as 1837; pioneer ancestors of members of the Society of Indiana Pioneers, 1983 states John Allen born NJ 1760; in Dearborn Co. by 1805 and Daviess County by 1816. He is also in the 1807 Census as being in Dearborn County.
