Died: Aug 14, 1779

Buried: Buried either on site of Fort or on riverbank.
History staes that Major Bowman left his family in Virginia. That may mean his father's family or a wife and children of whom there is no record in Knox County, Indiana.

Service: Captain in Clark's Army at capture of Fort Sackville.
Commission of Major arrived two days later, at time Clark was promoted to General
In celebrating event of capture, Bowman was injured by an explosion of gun powder, and eventally died from the effects of that accident.
