Service: Entered service early 1778, age 14, as a 9 month volunteer in Capt James Booth's co of Virginia Militia.
Volunteered to keep Garrison at Nuttlesford on Elk Creek, under Col Wm Louden.
In 1781-82 was an Indian Spy under orders of Col Louden.
